Luat Wins Kaohsiung Leg Of Asian 9-Ball Tour - Gives Way For RP Sweep Kaohsiung Business Exhibition Center, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan - The Asian 9-Ball Tour, Kaohsiung Leg was won by Rodolfo "Boy Samson" Luat. It was Luat's first time to join the tour, but he came from a very impressive performance in the just concluded IPT North American 8-Ball Championships.

The beginning of the stop was a bit hard for Luat, still having jet lag after coming from Las Vegas. But the momentum he brought from the US did him very well.
Rodolfo defeated Hui-Kai Hsia 11-7 in the finals to win the leg and to avenge compatriot Django Bustamante's loss to the Taiwanese in the semis.

Luat took home $10,000 for winning, and he gave the Philippines a chance to sweep this year's Asian 9-Ball Tour. Efren Reyes won the Ho Chi Minh and Ramil Gallego won the Bangkok leg this year. One more leg to go and the Philippines earns a sweep. The final leg will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia in September.

The top 10 players to emerge from the tour will automatically qualify for the WPA World 9-Ball Championships to be held for the first time this year in Manila.

The leg was held August 4-6.
